A Medical Loan Closet is a place where community members can access essential medical devices and supplies at no cost.

Items on hand may include: non-motorized wheelchairs, walkers, canes, crutches, shower/tub benches, toilet seats/chairs, grab bars, reachers, knee scooters, unopened adult diapers, liners or pads, bed rails, blood pressure monitors, oxygen/pulse oximeter and gait belts, which are devices that help caregivers or family members safely move individuals.

If you are in need of a medical device or have an item(s) to donate, please contact us at 219-464-9736 to schedule a time to pick-up or drop-off items. We request that you do not leave items outside or stop in without an appointment.

Westchester Township Trustee Suzanne Philbrick helped launch the Medical Loan Closet.

Westchester Township Trustee Suzanne Philbrick reached out to PCACS to launch a Medical Loan Closet in Porter County after she received calls from community members seeking help.

“We know there is a need for it,” Philbrick said. “We’re working together on a coordinated effort that is benefitting the community.”

Volunteers are periodically needed to help keep our closet clean and organized. We are seeking individuals to clean and organize the donated medical device items, so our needed community members can better see what is available. If you are available, call us at 219-464-9736. We appreciate our community!
