PCACS is a new distribution site for the Food Bank of NWI, which is a food relief organization in Northwest Indiana.
As a distribution site, our team assists with the Commodity Supplemental Food Programs, which is federally funded to assist with improving the health of seniors ages 60 and over by offering monthly boxes of food. Each month, participants will receive 30 to 40 pounds of food that include grains, vegetables, fruit, high protein items, juice, shelf-stable milk and a block of cheese.
To participate, seniors need to meet age, residential and income guidelines and meet with our team for a certification interview. There is no appointment necessary and interested individuals can stop by our offices at 1005 Campbell St. in Valparaiso to fill out paperwork or to ask questions.
Contact us for more information at 219-464-9736.
Once community members are part of the program, they will be notified when food boxes have arrived each month and the boxes will need to be picked up at our offices.
Pickup is set for the second Wednesday of the month between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Boxes need to be picked up by the second Friday of the month by 3 p.m.
